line 1: y=3x+1

line 2: y=-3x-2

add line1 + line 2...2y=1-2=-1

so y=-1/2

y=3x+1=-1/2, so 3x=-3/2 & x=-1/2=y

3X+1=-3X-2

6X=-3

X=-1/2

Y=3*(-1/2)+1

Y=-1/2
