how do u find y for this problem 2x-4y=8

2x  - 4y = 8
-4y = -2x + 8
y = (-2/-4)x + (8/-4)
y = (1/2)x - 2

This is the equation of a line that has a y-intercept of (0, -2)
and a slope of 1/2. The y value varies as the x value changes.
