s(2)=-16×4+0+1500=1436 feet, the initial velocity V₀=0 because the object is dropped, not thrown.

s(3)=-16×9+0+1500=1356 feet.

So the distance moved in one second is 1436-1356=80 feet.

Average velocity=(change in distance)/(change in time)=80 feet per second.
