%th grade math problem for my son, im stumped! lol

Larry, Curly and Moe decided to race up the stairs which have 24 steps. Larry takes the steps 2 at a time while Curly takes the steps 3 at a time. Moe takes the steps 4 at a time. If Moe starts at the bottom, what step should larry and curly start on so all three finish in a tie?

Moe starts on the first step and takes 6 steps to get to the top.

Larry to take 6 steps travels 18 steps, so must start at step 24 - 18 = 6th step.

Curley to take 6 steps travels 12 steps, so must start at 24 - 12 = 12th step.
